Hotel Pattaya - Mocejon

Room was clean and Wi-Fi worked.

The pillows were way too tall and hard. No matter what I did I was not able to sleep well because of them. I did not like the fact the person who handled our check in did not listen to me when I said that I wanted to pay cash at the time of checking in. He said it would be handled at the time of checking out. When the time came to check out he said it was taken care of and I said how as I had not paid him yet. He just charged it to my credit card which I did not want as I had cash on me and the exchange rate at the time was not favourable. He refused to cancel the transaction and let me pay with cash. I even had to ask for a receipt because I was not given one.

The hotel price was very reasonable and the accommodations though basic were relatively new and clean.

We arrived very late (close to 1 a.m.) due to missed train/bus connections and hadn't eaten any dinner. The hotel staff were closing but had a left-over plate of hard cheese and bread which they provided us along with four large beers. We learned the next day that this hospitable gesture came with a high cost -- about 30 Euros or $42. Likewise, we were overcharged for breakfast (coffee, rolls and one orange juice). The total food charge was very excessive - 60 euros or about $84 -- although we were unsuccessful in disputing the charges due to the language barrier. This, along with the 25 Euro (each way) taxi ride to/from Toledo, raised the overall cost of the accommodations. However, this was all we could get at the last minute.
